#1 Redskins Legend?! What an honor. Thanks for the love.
Tonight I have just experienced one of the greatest honors of a lifetime. Thanks to WUSA Channel 9 and all of the wonderful people who voted me the All-Time Redskins Legend.
Please allow me to share a few thoughts:
The Washington Redskins 1937-2007; Griffith Stadium, RFK and FedEx Field. The "Over the Hill Gang," the "Hogs," the "Smurfs," the "Pearl Harbor Crew"; Sammy Baugh, Billy Kilmer, Sonny and Sam; Theismann, Doug and Rypien; Bobby Mitchell, Charley Taylor, Jerry Smith, Hanberger, Brown, Riggins, Houston, Owens, Mann, Monk, Harvey, Sanders, Walker, Moseley, Manley, Byner...are you feeling me yet? Gibbs, Petitbon, Emmitt Thomas, Grimm, May, Bostic, B Mitch, G Clark...are you still with me?
Champ, Big Country, Westbrook, LaVar...are you getting my point? The
Capital City, the people, the fans, the history, the love...what can
I say? As you can see, the rich history and tradition of this team is
truly bigger than one man. I'm humbled by your love and grateful to
be a part of this community and the Redskins.
There are really no words to truly capture the feeling that this honor brings. I thank you. May God bless.
Congratulations on being voted as the #1 Redskin player this year! Your performance on the field back when you played had us all on the edge of our seats watching. You made things happen all the time, wish we had more players as Great as you!

Congratulations on your being voted the most memorable Redskin. We loved watching you play. I wear your jersey every Sunday when we watch the Skins still today. Again, congrats!

Just wanted to congratulate you on winning the #1 Redskins Legend contest. (DESERVEDLY SO) I've been a die hard Redskins fan since the mid seventies, back when I was a teenager. You brought us Redskins fans so many great memories. I'll never forget when you ran down Tony Dorsett, I miss seeing you, John Riggins, Joe, The Hogs, and the rest of the crew. It's been too long since we had a winner here! I can't wait till we're back on top! Again, thanks for all the memories.

Just wanted to write to...congratulate [Darrell] on his win for the All-Time Greatest Redskin. I [want to] let him know that he is, and always has been my favorite player on the Redskins, as well as for the entire NFL for that matter. I am 35, and remember him coming into the league, he has been an inspiration to me ever since. Thank you so much. Hail to The Redskins!

I just wanted to congratulate you on winning the pick for favorite Redskins of all time. For me, there was no other choice. I have been a fan for more years then I care to remember. I thank you for your positive role model image, for your dedication to values, hard work, family and above all your faith. Thank you for all you have done for us on and off the football field, you truly deserved this award.

You are the one responsible for my husband and I meeting... and, as Mr. Redskins, so responsible for so many great memories.. the punt return against Chicago, the stop against Minnesota that put us in the Superbowl, and of course, the run-down of Tony Dorsett. Congratulations!!! Thank you for giving me so many great years as a Redskin fan. I look forward to watching you and Art both get inducted into the Hall of Fame this year.
